It´s a famous hotspot bustour in Manhattan. Real fans of the great series always dream of seeing the spots of the series in reality. Follow Sarah Jessica Parker alias Carrie in New York and see where Sex and the City was made. Not just for big fans of Sex and the City, but also just for those, who are interested in the amazing West Village and the area around SoHo. A lot of my friends, who came here to New York ask me what to do and I always recommend this tour. After the tour everybody was just happy, that they did it.
During the 3.5 hours tour, you´re often in the mood of giggling and squawking, because you´re so close to Sex and the City and you really feel the vibe of the 4 girls in every spot you see. The tour guides you to the main spots, like shoe stores, restaurants, where they have been, the Cupcake bakery, the furniture store of Aiden, main spots of romantic scenes between Carrie & Mr Big and so many more. By having a feeling of their life, which was mostly about Sex and Men, you also enjoy the beautiful area in West Village and SoHo.
In the bus you see a lot of main scenes of Sex and the City and the very friendly (and of course huge fan of Sex and the City) guide asks questions about your knowledge of the series and gives details of SATC you never knew before. You leave the bus as well, when you walk to the main spots of the tour.
The big highlight of the tour is stopping by in front of Carries house: this famous stairs, where so much had happened: so many good bye´s of Mr Big, kisses and tears. Another romantic stop is the delicious Magnolia Bakery. Taste the sweet cupcakes the girls ate so many times before and have a cosmopolitan at Scout´s- Carries favorite pub. Take a walk in West Village and get to know some special insider tips, where Sarah Jessica Parker is eventually to be spotted in Manhattan. Good to know for you: I had the luck on a great day of october to see her face to face and all I can say: she´s is amazing and so beautiful. She lives her daily life in the City without security guys, so maybe you are lucky, too? Fingers crossed!
You start at:
The Plaza Hotel (59. St between 5th & 6th Ave, at Central Park)
The tour ends at:
42nd Street & 6th Avenue
You have to buy your ticket in advance, because the tour is very popular and always busy. This is the website, where you can purchase your tickets online.
The most popular stairs in movie history
(66 Perry Street / Greenwich Village)
The stairs to Carries apartment: Carrie Bradshaw lives normally on Upper East Side, but these Adress doesn´t exist. The original spot ist much more south in Greenwich Village. The stairs of 66 Perry Street worked over years as Carrie´s steps into her apartment. The sign next to the door is a little confusing, because it says 1866 and not 66 like it should be. 1866 is the year of construction.
(401 Bleecker Street)
It was a famous meeting point for the Sex and the City girls. Miranda and Carrie always bought their Cupcakes in the Magnolia Bakery. It´s very close to Carries place.
(174 Grand Street)
It´s another favorite pub of the SATC girls: Scout. In real life it´s called Onieals. There have been the second meeting of Carrie and Aidan. It´s 30 minutes walk from Magnolia Bakery.
Carrie´s favorite shoe store
Manolo Blahnik – 31 West 54th Street – between. 5th and 6th Avenue it´s a Must-See on the Hotspot Tour.
The Birthday italian restaurant: Il Cantinori
At the corner of 10th and University Street. There should have been celebrated Carries 35th Birthday, but nobody came to that place on that evening.
First date with Big – Pan Asian Restaurant Tao
(42 East 58th St.)
On the opening night, Carrie met Big for the first time.
(7th Ave South)
In that Sexshop Charlotte bought her „Rabbit“– the girls had to take the Rabbit one day, because Charlotte did not want to leave her apartment anymore.
Jefferson Market Library & Garden
(6th Ave & 10th Street)
On this green-field of an old law institute Miranda and Steve got married.
Staten Island Ferry
A very common scene in the series: the SATC girls on Long Island Ferry. A ride with the ferry is free and it takes you 25 minutes from Manhattan to Long Island. You start at Whitehall Street Ferry Terminal.
Church of the Transfiguration
(1 E 29th Street)
Samanthas shortly loves a priest, but her tries to find redemption never been heard.
The wedding place – New York Public Library
(Fifth Avenue on 42nd Street)
This is the place, where Carrie should had married Mr Big, but he did not came to the wedding. This sad story we got to know in the first movie of SATC. Carrie wanted to get married in this romantic place, because she every dreamed of a perfect and totally romantic wedding.
